CAO's experience of working with challenging projects, combined with its independence and credibility, enables it to provide advice to the World Bank Group President and senior management aimed at improving performance in a systemic way.

CAO Advisor

The CAO's advisory role provides advice to the President of the World Bank Group and management of IFC and MIGA on broader social and environmental issues related to policies, standards, procedures, guidelines, resources, and systems.

Derived from lessons learned from its caseload, CAO's advice aims to improve performance in a systemic way and provide guidance to IFC and MIGA on emerging trends and strategic issues.

Advisory Work for IFC's Policy Review and Update, May 2010

The CAO released its Advisory Note to inform IFC's Policy Review and Update in May 2010. With a focus on implementation of IFC's Sustainability Framework to date, CAO conducted a portfolio review of IFC investments and an in-depth study of local stakeholder perceptions around 5 projects in the field.
