Resumption of CAO Casework in Ukraine

17 Oct 2022

Washington, D.C., October 17, 2022

CAO is recommencing its work on two cases in Ukraine that were suspended in March 2022 due to the war.  CAO has made the decision to resume work in consultation with different stakeholders and will do so in a manner that is sensitive to the ongoing conflict.

The two cases (Axzon-01/Halych and Kalush and MHP-01/Vinnytsia Oblast) are in the compliance review phase. For each, CAO will conduct the next steps based primarily on available documentation and does not envisage conducting fieldwork at this stage.

CAO continues to be concerned for the safety and well-being of colleagues, complainants, IFC and MIGA clients, and other parties we engage with in Ukraine, and reiterates the statements made by World Bank Group President, David Malpass, and other Bank Group leaders in expressing its strong support and commitment to the people of Ukraine.
