Mariana is an international human rights attorney with extensive experience in international human rights adjudication and environmental and social compliance reviews in Latin American and the Caribbean. Prior to joining CAO, she was a lead case officer for the Compliance Review function at MICI, the independent accountability mechanism of the Inter-American Development Bank Group. Previously, she was a senior attorney at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and has worked with non-governmental organizations and private firms. She is Venezuelan and Panamanian and has a law degree from the Andrés Bello Catholic University, an LL.M from the University of Cambridge, and an MPA from LSE.
